Vulcan Gas Replacement Noble Park
At over 10 years old, this 135L Vulcan gas storage hot water system in Noble Park had well and truly had it. The unit was leaking from the base, even when our team turned off all the valves. This system also had a lot of rust on the pipes and connections.
After an inspection, our team came up with a plan of action. This job would take several days and would involve:
- Swapping the rusted Vulcan hot water system for a new one
- Installing a 500 kPa pressure-limiting valve to protect the new hot water system
- Installing new valves and pipework and connecting all of the appliances such as the cooktop and ducted gas heater.
Replacing The Old Gas Hot Water System
The first step was removing the old Vulcan system and replacing it with a new unit. As part of the replacement, our plumbers installed a 500kPa pressure-limiting valve to help protect the new hot water system from excessive water pressure. New valves and pipes were installed in the kitchen, and we replaced the older, rusted connections.
Connecting All The Appliances
Once the new pipework was in place, our gas fitters connected the home's gas appliances and checked the connections. Getting the connections right the first time is so important, especially when working with an older gas system. Replacing the worn-out fittings and valves provides long-term reliability for the high-usage appliances throughout the home.
We connected appliances such as:
- Gas Cooktop
- Ducted Gas Heater
- Gas Hot Water System
Testing and Certificate of Compliance
After the installations and connections were completed safely, the new Vulcan hot water system was tested to make sure that everything was working properly. Once everything was checked, we issued a Certificate of Compliance for all the gas work.
