Repairing Damaged Copper Garden Tap
Our team of plumbers recently attended a property in Mill Park to repair a damaged copper water pipe supplying an outdoor garden tap. The homeowner had accidentally cut through the 20mm copper pipe. The pipe was downstream of the water meter, leaving the pipe exposed.
After inspecting the situation, our plumbers replaced the damaged section of pipe and reconnected the garden tap to restore the water supply to this home.
Repairing The Damaged Copper Water Pipe
To complete this job safely, we had to isolate the water supply and drain the line before cutting out the damaged section of the exposed copper pipe.
Our team then:
- Removed the damaged section of the copper pipe
- Installed the replacement pipework and a new lugged elbow
- Reconnected the garden tap
- Secured the pipework to the existing metal stake
- Restored the water supply and bled air from the line
- Tested the repair for leaks
Outdoor Garden Tap Repair and Replacement Mill Park
Exposed outdoor pipework can be vulnerable to accidental damage, particularly around garden taps, meters and other accessible plumbing connections. Even a short cut or damaged section can cause water loss and prevent the tap from being used.
Replacing the affected pipe and fittings allows the connection to be restored without unnecessarily replacing the entire water line.
WP Plumbing provides plumbing repairs across Mill Park and Melbourne, including leaking copper pipes, damaged garden tap connections and outdoor water supply repairs.
